THE MARKET EXCHANGE IS HERE;

The Marketplace “EXCHANGE” is designed to help you find health insurance plan that meet your needs and fit your budget. The Marketplace offers “one-stop shopping” to find and compare private health insurance plan options in Florida. You may also be eligible for a new kind of tax credit that lower your monthly premium payment right away.

Essential Health Insurance Benefits:

  • Hospitalization.
  • Prescription Drugs.
  • Emergency Rooms.
  • Laboratory Services.
  • Maternity and Newborn Baby.
  • Pediatric services including Oral Care.
  • Rehabilitative and habilitative services and devices.
  • Ambulatory patient services such as doctor’s visit.
  • Preventive and wellness services and chronic disease management.
  • Mental Health and substance use disorder services including behavioral health.

Five Levels of Qualified Health Plans:

Catastrophic plan with maximum out of pocket limit.
Bronze plan pays on average 60%.
Silver plan pays on average 70%.
Gold plan pays on average 80%.
Platinum plan pays on average 90%.

Financial Assistance Eligibility:

Tax Credit and Cost Sharing Premium Subsidy are available for applicant with income categories calculated between 100% – 400% of Federal Poverty Level (FPL) – must purchase health insurance policy On the EXCHANGE in order to receive government subsidy, or may be eligible for Medicaid coverage, see income levels below:

Individual with annual income of $114,580 to $58,320.
Family of 2 with annual income of $19,720 to $78,880.
Family of 3 with annual income of $24,860 to $99,440.
Family of 4 with annual income of $30,000 to $120,000.

Note: Applicant with income levels over 400% FPL – NO FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE.

Major Consumer Protections In The Affordable Care Act:

  1. No annual or lifetime coverage limits.
  2. Guaranteed Issue regardless of health status.
  3. Extension of health insurance coverage to Children up to age 26.
  4. Prohibition on coverage limitations or exclusions based on pre-existing conditions.
  5. Prohibition on charging consumers a higher premium based on health status or gender.
